Release Day! Interviewing Jill and Clay

Woot! It’s release day for Her Deadly Reunion, and I’m interviewing Jill and Clay to find out how they’re feeling about this latest adventure in their lives.

So Jill and Clay, I’m glad to have you with us on this exciting day! We know you two met and came to love each other in the first book, Her Deadly Inheritance. What did you hope to accomplish in this second story in your series?

Jill (sitting on my couch next to Clay): At my birth father’s invitation, I went to Milwaukee to meet him, hoping finally to know the loving father-daughter relationship I longed for all my life. But I arrived to find he might not have long to live. My heart broke, knowing we might have so little time. And discovering someone might be trying to kill him frightened me into action. Not the first Christmas I had envisioned with him.

And how about you, Clay?

Clay (with his arm around Jill): I went with Jill to give her the support she would need. But also with big plans to make our first Christmas special. I intended to include her father in my plans, if he was willing. Never had I experienced so many obstacles. And danger? I wasn’t sure any of the three of us would escape the deadly trap a killer had set for us. Jill is right–this was not the beautiful Christmas we expected until ….

Obviously all turned out well, since you two are here today and healthy.

Clay (smiling at Jill): Yes, Jill and I–with God’s help–make a good team.

You sure do. But now that this second adventure is over, what good news can readers expect in your future?

Jill: Clay leaves soon to renovate a historic hotel in Port au Prince, Haiti, and I will join him the last two weeks to finish plans for our wedding on Easter morning.

That is good news! You’re not expecting any more difficulties, are you?

Jill and Clay smile and shrug their shoulders, and I don’t blame them. Trouble does seem to find them wherever they go!

It likely won’t be different in the third book in their series,Her Deadly Vows.

Dear Reader, if you have any questions for Jill and Clay, please let me know, and I’ll ask them.

“Merry Christmas” Morning?

Believe it or not! We woke up to a “Merry Christmas” morning today. A bit early … as it’s early November yet … but hey! It’s beautiful and MOST APPROPRIATE.

Why? Because …

Believe it or not, in just seven days Her Deadly Reunion releases! And … it has a Christmas setting in beautiful Wisconsin.  With all the celebration and snow tucked into Jill and Clay’s continuing romance. And heart-stopping suspense as they race to outwit a yet another killer.

You’ve been asking for this sequel to Her Deadly Inheritance (Thank you so very much!). So here’s your chance to grab a copy. Go to Amazon or order it through your local bookstore. And enjoy!

Blessings to you all … and Merry Christmas (when it arrives)!

Christian Fiction Lovers Romantic Suspense Facebook Party–So Much Fun!

Wow! Monday night’s Christian Fiction Lovers Romantic Suspense Facebook Party was exciting and–in my estimation–a complete success. So much fun!

In case you missed it … I’m super excited to tell you that my friend Christy win one of the event’s two Grand prizes–the Amazon gift card. Congratulations, Christy Calkins!

Arletta Boulton won the other Grand Prize–all five featured novels by the participating authors. So I will send her an autographed copy of Her Deadly Inheritance. Congratulations,Arletta Boulton!

Wondering what goes on at a Facebook book or author party? Well, they’re an exciting mix of getting to know the authors and their latest novels, fun questions and activities to compete for prizes, bumping into old friends and making new ones. And of course, prizes … because each author also gives away one or more prizes. So, lots of prizes.

My half-hour segment’s two prize winners are Brenda Murphree (e-book of Her Deadly Inheritance) and Trixi Oberembt (pre-ordered e-book of Her Deadly Reunion). Congratulations to Brenda and Trixi!

Next time you are invited to an author or book Facebook party, I hope you’ll make a point of joining in the fun!

See you there!

Her Deadly Reunion Debuts!

Can’t believe it!  The ink is barely dry, but this week Her Deadly Reunion, sequel to Her Deadly Inheritance, made two debut appearances:

First, Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas put it up on Amazon for pre-sales.

Then, off to the Innisbrook Resort in Tampa, Florida for the SIBA — the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance — tradeshow (September 13-15).

SIBA identifies itself as “a trade alliance for privately-held, brick & mortar, commercially zoned, retail indie bookstores in the south.”

As you can see, publisher Eddie Jones put together a great display of LPC books for this event. And to my complete surprise, he included Her Deadly Reunion which first releases November 15 on Amazon. If you look carefully to Eddie’s right, you will see the first paperback copy of Her Deadly Reunion on the top shelf. Thank you, Eddie!

A Father’s Day Mystery …

Father’s Day is only two days away, and it first occurred to me today that I never considered the pain Jill might have experienced on that day each year. The heroine in my novel series longed to know her birth father–even made up stories about him in her head–but she didn’t know his name or anything about him.

What was it like for her when she saw other little girls with their fathers? Or Father’s Day rolled around? I know how deeply she felt when she met her father in the pages of Her Deadly Reunion. But not much in the years before. It’s a Father’s Day mystery …

Would you fill in this blank place in Jill’s life for me? Venture a guess? Share an experience?

It’s Official! Second Novel Scheduled for Release

  • Hope there will be another story with Jill and Clay. Theirs is an adventure I would love to follow.

To answer some of your comments: Yes, you will see two more books about Jill and Clay. While preparing for Her Deadly Reunion‘s launch, I’ll be writing Her Deadly Vows. In the meantime …

Where is Her Deadly Reunion in its preparations for release? The interior design elements (what the pages and type face look like) are in place.

The book cover design team at Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas have the novel’s back cover copy (story blurb), the new author photo, and a document of details they will consider as they work. By the end of summer, we should have a beautiful new cover for the second book.

I can’t wait to see it. And when I do, you will, too!

Until then …Thank you for accompanying me on this writer’s journey. You make it all worthwhile.
